With a career spanning over 27 years across the United Kingdom, North America and Asia, Won has worked on some of the most prestigious architectural projects across multiple building typologies. This includes Class A office developments in the City of London, such as Tower Place and Sainsbury’s – Holborn SSC (Holborn Place). Won’s experience extends to Olympic Sports facilities such as Richmond Olympic Oval for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and Aspire Leisure Centre in Stanmore London. Additionally, they played a key role in consulting on Pyeongchang Winter Olympics host city bid and financially successful TOD mixed-use developments such as Shanghai IAPM to name but a few.

Since joining Populous, Won has worked on a multitude of Sports Stadia, Racecourse, Arena, and MICE projects in the APAC region. He found and led multiple project consultancy bids including Jamsil Sports MICE Complex in Seoul, a two billion dollar development which includes the largest baseball dome in Korea, a multi-storey COEX building covering 90,000 sq m of exhibition space, and a Sports Complex arena.

James O’Callaghan is a world leading Structural and Facade Engineer who is widely acknowledged as an authority in application and engineering of structural glass.

His innovative and practical approach has made him an integral part of the design team for a number of internationally known clients and their pioneering and award-winning projects. These include Apple, Google and Atlassian to name but a few. He is passionate about sustainability and strives for continual improvement and evolution in all the solutions his practice delivers.

He is co-founder of the multi award-winning structural and facade engineering practice, Eckersley O’Callaghan, which he has led in being one of most recognised creative engineering design practices in the world. Hwan Kim is the Principal of VIA’s Seoul office, where he brings extensive expertise in computational design, environmental performance analysis, and advanced façade systems. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota and has led interdisciplinary efforts at the intersection of architecture, technology, and sustainability.

At VIA, Hwan has played a pivotal role in integrating digital design methodologies with building performance modeling, material research, and data-driven construction processes. His global project experience spans a number of iconic works, including the canopy of the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art in Davis, California (with SO–IL), the Morpheus Hotel in Macau (designed by Zaha Hadid Architects), the Lusail Tower Plaza in Qatar (designed by F+P), Naver Data Center Gak in Sejong (designed by Junglim and Mass Studies), and HYBE HQ in Seoul (designed by FHHH Friends).

Prior to joining VIA, Hwan served as a façade consultant at Front Inc., contributing to complex architectural envelopes across its offices in San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Seoul. He also worked as an urban design researcher with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, contributing to civic and public-sector architecture with a focus on performance and resilience.

Hwan is an active lecturer and has been invited to speak at institutions including Nikken Sekkei Tokyo, Yonsei University, and the University of Seoul. His work on the Brera Pedestrian Bridge and selected designs featured at the Young Architect’s Design Session were published in the proceedings of ISAIA 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Recently he was awarded in ISAIA 2024 in Kyoto, Japan with his research in AI-driven methodology for enhancing BMI interoperability in architectural digital fabrication.
